Details Merlin produced Premier League 96 for the 1995/1996 Premier League football season. In addition, they also produced an accompanying sticker album, with the idea being to collect stickers that would fill in the album. Each sticker had a number on the peel away back. Subsequently, these numbers would match to a number in the album, and this is where you stuck that sticker. They could purchase stickers in randomly filled packets, and you never knew what you would get in each packet. Therefore, this added to the excitement of filling your collection. For instance, if you needed the stickers you had purchased in the packets, you could stick them in the sticker album matching the number. If you had already placed a sticker on that number it would give you a duplicate, more commonly known as a swap, they could then exchange these swaps with friends for stickers you needed to help you and them complete your collections.
